Egypt – Demand for contract professionals on the rise due to economic boom

31 May 2018

Egypt is seeing an increase in demand for contract professionals, according to data from 6CATS International, a supplier of contractor management solutions.

Between January and May 2018, Egypt saw a 73% increase in contract professionals working. Furthermore, the increase is equally split between local professionals and European nationals.

According to 6CATS, this surge in demand comes at a time when the Egyptian economy is observing a boom in activity.

A report from the Centre for International Development at Harvard University published earlier this month, ranked Egypt as the third fastest growth economy in the world.

“There’s certainly been a growth in business activity in Egypt that is leading to a significant increase in demand for contract professionals to plug talent gaps,” Michelle Reilly, CEO of 6CATS International, said. “What we’re seeing is that this positivity is being reflected across multiple areas, ranging from pharma and technical engineering to solar energy and offshore oil & gas.”

“For contractors, and the agencies that place them overseas, Egypt is certainly likely to be a destination of choice in the near future,” Reilly said.
