EU – Number of hours worked by agency workers increases

Eurociett, the European confederation of private employment services, has published its latest European Agency Work Business Indicator which shows average year-on-year growth of 2.5% in the number of hours worked by Europe’s agency workers.

According to the report, the Netherlands recorded 11% growth year-on-year and Belgium reported 9.2% year-on-year growth up to February 2016.  Germany saw a decrease of 4.3% in the number of hours worked up to December 2015 and Norway experienced negative year-on-year growth of -6.2%. 

Turnover developments showed some very strong year-on-year growth with most notably Finland and the Netherlands showing double digit growth year-on-year.  Meanwhile Belgium and France also witnessed solid revenue growth year-on-year at 8.7% and 5% respectively.  Only Norway saw a year-on-year fall in revenues.
