The total amount of hours worked by temporary workers in the Netherlands fell 13% year over year in the tenth period of 2023 (11 September through 8 October, weeks 37 to 40), according to the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU). Revenue decreased by 3% when compared to the same period a year ago.

The latest period had the same number of workable days as the same period last year, so no correction was applied.

Broken down by sector, in the administrative sector the number of hours fell by 21% and turnover fell by 8% compared to the same period last year.

In the industrial sector, the number of hours decreased by 10% and turnover remained the same compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, in the technical sector the number of hours decreased by 7% and turnover increased by 5% compared to the same period last year.
