The total amount of hours worked by temporary workers in the Netherlands decreased by 12% year over year in the twelfth period of 2023 (6 November through 3 December, weeks 45 to 48), according to the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU).
Despite the sharp drop in hours, revenue only fell by 1% when compared to the same period a year ago. Broken down by sector, the number of hours worked in the administrative sector fell by 20% and turnover fell by 7% compared to the same period last year.
In the industrial sector, the number of hours decreased by 8% and turnover increased by 2% compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, in the technical sector, the number of hours decreased by 8% and turnover increased by 4% compared to the same period last year.
