Revenue in the temporary employment sector in the Netherlands ticked up 4.4% in the third quarter of 2023 when compared to a year earlier, according to data from Statistics Netherlands.
While revenue in this sector has now increased for ten quarters in a row, the growth rate has decreased in the last six quarters.
Last month, research from the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU) showed revenue fell by 2% compared to the same period a year ago.
Further data from the Bureau noted that revenue from business services was 8.1% higher in the third quarter of 2023 than in the third quarter of 2022. Revenue has now been rising by double digits for two years in a row, partly due to higher prices. Business confidence in business services was slightly higher than a quarter earlier but was still negative.
Meanwhile, turnover among IT service providers was 6.6% higher than the year prior. Turnover there has now increased for thirteen quarters in a row.
