Denmark – Job ads on Jobindex remain stable in March

04 April 2023

Danish job board Jobindex posted 27,100 new job advertisements online in March 2022 on a seasonally adjusted basis.

The 27,100 figure was slightly below the 27,200 seen in February. The figure is also above pre-pandemic 2019 figures.

Over the last six months, Jobindex noted that the number of new job advertisements has been largely unchanged with new job ads in October totalling 27,600, November and December posting 27,500 new job adverts online and January improving slightly from November and December.

Jobindex stated that companies seem to be adapting to the more uncertain economic times. However, it added that March’s slight decline means that it is uncertain whether the increase in employment will continue or whether unemployment will start to rise.

Meanwhile, the number of new job adverts placed online for clerical jobs in the private sector has fallen by 20% from March last year to March 2023. The fall in non-white-collar jobs in the private sector has been slightly steeper with a fall of 23% over the year.

The number of new job advertisements linked to the public sector has fallen by 17% from March last year to March 2023. The defence sector reported an increase while the construction sector reported a slowdown.
