Belgium – Temporary workers’ hours up in April

The number of temporary agency hours worked  in April recorded an increase of 0.13% compared with April of 2017, according to Federgon, the Belgian Federation of Staffing Agencies.

Federgon reported that the number of hours worked by temp workers in the blue-collar sector decreased by 0.21% in April when compared to the same time last year, while the white-collar sector posted an increase of 0.61% for the same period.

When compared to the previous month, the number of hours worked by temp workers in the blue-collar sector fell by 0.03% while the white-collar sector rose by 0.89% for the same period.

The Federgon index reached 116.9 points in April 2018 compared to 116.5 points the month before. This index reports the level of activity in the month under review compared to January 2007 (=100), on a seasonally adjusted basis.
