Belgium – Online job vacancies report growth in Q3

29 October 2018

The number of unique job vacancies posted online in Belgium grew by 17.9% in the third quarter of 2018 when compared to the same quarter in 2017, according to analysis by Jobfeed, Textkernel's Big Data tool for vacancies.

Jobfeed’s data found that there were 276,598 unique vacancies posted online in Belgium in the third quarter.

By region, Jobfeed found that more than one in five job vacancies were in the province of Antwerp. Overall, the most online job vacancies were found in the provinces of Antwerp, East and West Flanders. Together they accounted for 56.9% of all online vacancies. However, this is a decrease of 1.8% compared to the same quarter a year earlier. This means that the number of unique vacancies in other regions has grown faster than in these three provinces.

By sector, Sales and Trade had the largest market share (12.5%) during the period. Administration and customer service followed with 11%, and rounding out the top three with 11% market share was Production. The total market share of these top 3 sectors was 33.8%, down from 35.3% last year.
