30 July 2018

In June 2018, the number of hours worked by temporary agency workers in Belgium increased by 0.38% when compared to the same period last year, according to Federgon, the Belgian Federation of Staffing Agencies.

The slight increase is attributed to an increase of 1.07% in the number of hours worked by temp workers in the white-collar sector but a decrease of 0.09% in the blue-collar sector.

When compared to the previous month, in June 2018, the number of temporary agency work hours decreased by 1.75% compared to the previous month. The decline was attributed to a decrease in the number of hours of temporary agency work for the blue-collar segment (-1.57%) and by the white-collar sector (-2%).

The Federgon index reached 115.5 points in June 2018 compared to 117.5 points the month before. The index reports the level of activity in the month under review compared to January 2007 (=100), on a seasonally adjusted basis.
