Belgium – Demand for temp workers up 5.3% in first quarter, Federgon finds

Belgium’s temporary work market reported a 5.3% increase in demand in the first quarter when compared to the previous year, according to the latest report on the labour market from Federgon, the Belgian Federation of Staffing Agencies.

Both the blue-collar and white-collar temporary worker segments reported an increase in demand of 5.5% and 5.1%, respectively.

Federgon’s report also showed that demand in the Interim Management market grew by 15.2% in Q1 2018 when compared to the previous quarter. Demand from the Recruitment, Search & Selection grew by 11.7% while the project sourcing sector saw an increase of 6.7% compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, he outplacement sector recorded an increase of 1.2%, and Learning & Development activities saw an increase of 3.9% when compared to the previous year.
