Australia – Chandler Macleod acquires healthcare firm

07 December 2012

Australia’s third-largest staffing firm, Chandler Macleod Group (ASX: CMG), has acquired Vivir Healthcare in a deal that will expand the company’s repertoire and service offering. The HR provider has entered into a binding agreement to buy all of the shares in Vivir Healthcare for AUD34.6 million (€27.8 million).

Privately-owned Vivir provides clinical services such as physiotherapy to the aged care sector and is expected to contribute up to AUD4 million to Chandler’s pre-tax profit in the second half of 2013. By the 2014 financial year, this figure is expected to rise to up to AUD11 million.

Chandler Macleod already offers health and medical staffing services and the acquisition is of strategic importance. The staffing firm plans to source healthcare workers to Vivir, a leading allied healthcare brand in the country.

Chandler Macleod has a market share of over 5%, according to research on the Australian staffing market by Staffing Industry Analysts. Founded in 1959, the company provides temporary workers in a range of specialist sectors and has grown rapidly following the acquisition of Ross Human Directions in February last year.
