Around the Web – Gulf salaries are on the rise as Saudi Arabia boosts job creation

11 April 2012

The 2012 edition of GulfTalent.com’s annual study on employment and salary trends in the Gulf region has recently been released and found that Gulf salaries rose by +5.5% in 2011 with a further increase of 5.6% expected for 2012.

The report also found that HR professionals received the highest average pay rises in 2011 while across the Gulf, Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Retail sectors are seeing the largest headcount expansion.

When looking at employment trends, Saudi Arabia records the highest rate of job creation in the region and Bahrain the lowest.

Gulf staffing markets are amongst the fastest growing in the world and the region has very positive economic prospects in the short to medium term. But risks remain due to the high dependence on oil production and political unrest that could destabilise markets like Bahrain.
