Mountain View, California & London, UK — October 1, 2019 — Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), the global advisor on staffing and workforce solutions, recently released its 2019 report on the Largest Staffing Firms in France, as well as the accompanying Overview of the French Staffing Market.
The Largest Staffing Firms in France report ranks the 50 largest staffing suppliers operating in this market by revenue generated during the year 2018. According to our data, the top 50 firms accounted for 97% of the total French staffing market, marking France as one of the most consolidated staffing markets in Europe.
The French market grew by 5.4% in 2018, on the back of a strong year 2017. The 50 largest firms outperformed the market as their combined revenue increased by 6.5%, according to our estimates, compared to 2017.
The Adecco Group is the largest staffing firm in France, with 19.2% market share, according to our calculations. ManpowerGoup and Randstad placed second and third, respectively. They are followed by four French companies: Groupe Crit, Proman, Synergie and Adequat.

The market share of the Top 3 shrank from 57% to 47% between 2012 and 2018. The revenue share of the market players outside the Top 10 grew consistently over the same period, at the expense not only of the Top 3 firms, but also the smaller suppliers struggling to make ends meet in increasingly competitive market conditions.
“We believe French staffing groups Partnaire and Piment were the fastest growing companies in the Top 50 in 2018,” said David Papapostolou, Senior Research Analyst at SIA. “Just four firms inside the Top 50 saw their revenue decline during the same year, while 25 competitors outpaced the Top 50 median annual growth rate.”
