UK – REC looks for further ‘Good Recruiters’

27 July 2015

The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) is looking for companies to join the likes of EY, Jaguar Land Rover, Johnson & Johnson, Wincanton and SAB Miller who have recently committed to best practice recruitment.

The REC’s Good Recruitment Campaign aims to help organisations reinvigorate their recruiting strategies, so they provide a better candidate experience and work more effectively with their recruitment partners. Since the campaign launched in April 2014, a total of 73 organisations have signed the Good Recruitment Charter. Pledging to promote diversity and inclusion, offer flexible working arrangements, provide an excellent candidate experience and lead the way to promote best recruitment practices.

REC Chief Executive Kevin Green said, “we want to bring these organisations together to learn from each other, and ultimately to help businesses large and small get better at bringing in and keeping hold of talented people. This is vital at a time when demand for quality candidates is high and employers are struggling to find the people they need”.

EY Recruiting Leader for UK & Ireland Dan Richards said the company is “ constantly looking for ways to enhance the candidate experience. We believe that being a member of this initiative will align with our future business plans for EY to be the leading global professional services organisation by 2020.”

The new signatories join organisations from across the private and public sectors, including Kellogg’s, Diageo, Yell, PepsiCo, McDonalds, Mercedes-Benz, Santander, First Group, Royal Mail, G4S and RWE npower. The campaign is also supported by the CIPD, The FIRM, the Institute of Leadership and Management, the Federation of Small Businesses, the Direct Employers Association, the Confederation of Business Industry, NHS Employers and ACAS.
