Japan – JAC Recruitment reports strong growth in healthcare staffing

Japanese staffing firm JAC Recruitment (2124: JP) reported revenue during the six months ending 30 June 2014 to JPY 4.5 billion (USD 44.1 million), an increase of +26.6% from JPY 3.6 billion (USD 35.3 million) a year ago.

Operating profit for the period increased by +41.1% to JPY 1.4 billion (USD 13.7 million), up from JPY 957 million (USD 9.4 million) last year. Net income for the period was JPY 811 million (USD 8 million), a year-on-year increase of +46.3% compared with JPY 554 million (USD 5.3 million) in H1 2013.

JAC International reported revenue for the six months period of JPY 204 million (USD 2 million), an increase of +40.8% compared with a year ago. JAC Recruitment attributes its international revenue growth to an improved performance in the United States. 

JAC Recruitment provides recruitment services to local enterprises and multinationals in Japan, the United Kingdom, and rest of Asia. The company conducts recruitment of skilled permanent employees ranging from assistant level personnel to executives and various specialists. It also offers Japanese speaking and multilingual specialists, as well as online job listing services.

In trading today, the company’s share price closed marginally down by -0.1% at JPY 1,404 (USD 13.77), a decrease of -5.3% compared with a year ago. Based on its current share price, the company has a market value of JPY 29 billion (USD 284.3 million).
