Austria - Trenkwalder CEO speaks about the refugee crisis and its impact

24 November 2015

Karoly Pataki, CEO of Austrian staffing firm Trenkwalder, said in an interview that most migrants are overqualified for the jobs they perform. He said that recognition and certification of migrants’ expertise is needed in order to more quickly purse the professions they had in their homeland.

Pataki looks at language training as a crucial point for migrants attaining jobs in other countries .For temporary employment, Pataki suggests that employers should use the same training and techniques as regular employees so that they can start learning and working instead of taking it one step at a time, which he says would take too long and put a burden on the state.

Pataki also sees competency checks as important in order to see if a migrant has experience in the field or not and says that this check would last only one to two days. If this check is passed, then an employment contract can be issued faster.
