Impellam Group sells US light industrial brand Corestaff

UK-based global staffing firm Impellam Group sold Corestaff, its US-based light industrial brand, for $19 million to Swipejobs Inc.

The transaction was announced on Jan. 24 and completed Feb. 8.

Corestaff had revenue of approximately $97.3 million in the fiscal year ended Jan. 1 and posted gross profit of approximately $13.5 million.

“We recognize the contribution that Corestaff has made to our group but after a strategic review, and in consideration of the scale and limited geographic footprint of Corestaff in North America, we consider our customers and people will benefit from enhanced geographic reach for their light industrial staffing requirements coupled with an accelerated digital transformation brought about by this transaction,” Impellam CEO Julia Robertson said.

Proceeds from the sale will go toward paying down net debt and funding additional investments.

Swipejobs is a staffing platform providing W-2 workers. It’s headquartered in Austin, Texas, and Sydney, Australia. It was founded in 2013.
