What makes workplaces satisfying: report

What do employees want in order to find a workplace satisfying? A report released today by Aerotek aims to answer the question, and it listed the top five factors that employees say are important:

  1. Business practices in line with my values
  2. Opportunities for growth and advancement
  3. My ideas are taken seriously
  4. Recognition for my work
  5. Managers care about my career

The report, “Workplace Satisfaction Report: What Workers Want — and What Doesn’t Matter,” was based on a survey of more than 1,200 employees across industries and skill sets.

“Most people understand that workplace satisfaction is an important driver of employee engagement,” said Charmaine Thomas, Aerotek senior manager. “But understanding workplace satisfaction, to a degree that drives employee engagement, requires a deeper commitment to and understanding of employees that unlocks individuals’ motivations to do more and achieve more.”
