Walmart is enlisting its employees to create an on-demand network of drivers, Inc. reports. The Walmart employees who sign up for the company's new associate delivery program will use a smartphone app to sign up and make up to 10 deliveries a day on their way home from work. Dubbed “associate delivery,” the pilot program is currently limited to two stores in New Jersey and one in Arkansas. However, Walmart hopes to roll out the program nationwide and leverage the retailer’s 1.2 million employees and 4,700 US-based stores.
