Uber revenue up 43% in 2018, net loss at $1.8 billion (Reuters)

February 19, 2019

Uber Technologies Inc.’s full-year revenue rose to $11.3 billion in 2018, up 43% from the prior year, Reuters reported. The human cloud, ride-sharing firm’s losses before taxes, depreciation and other expenses were $1.8 billion compared to the $2.2 billion loss posted in 2017. However, Uber on Friday also reported revenue grew just 2% in the fourth quarter, signaling that it continues to heavily subsidize rides in competitive markets and raising questions about its future growth prospects.
