US temporary staffing hours worked down 13% in week ended April 1

Temporary staffing hours worked in the US fell 13% year over year in the week ended April 1, according to the latest SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator report released today.

Looking at this week’s report, commercial staffing hours fell 16% year over year, while professional staffing hours fell 4%.

Temporary employment has been below its year-ago levels since Dec. 22, 2022, and lost 10,7000 jobs in March 2023. However, regarding the outlook for full-year 2023, Staffing Industry Analysts projects a modest decline in commercial staffing and mixed trends in professional staffing in terms of market size.
