US service-sector activity expands at solid pace in December (The Wall Street Journal)

The Wall Street Journal reports growth in economic activity across the sprawling US service sector was steady and solid in December, a sign of momentum for the broader economy headed into the new year. The Institute for Supply Management today said its index of nonmanufacturing activity was at a reading of 57.2 in December, unchanged from November and remaining at its highest level since October 2015.
