Most 2016 pay raises will average around 3%, according to the 2016 Salary Guides released today by Randstad US. However, in-demand jobs are trending up to three times higher.
Certain engineering, IT, manufacturing and logistics, and office and administration jobs can expect compensation increases of 6% to 9%.
The following jobs in engineering, IT, manufacturing and logistics, and office and administration showed the highest year-over-year national median salary increases:
Engineering:
- Electronics/computer engineer: 8.31%
- Mechanical engineer: 7.38%
- Quality engineer: 7.36%
IT:
- Network engineer: 7.21%
- Software engineer: 5.48%
- Project manager: 3.87%
Manufacturing and logistics:
- Electromechanical technician: 9.29%
- Assistant plant manager: 8.05%
- Maintenance manager: 6.65%
Office and administration:
- Office manager: 6.68%
- Call center representative – general calls: 4.55%
- Accounts receivable supervisor: 4.50%
Randstad US combined its robust salary and industry information with data provided through the Economic Research Institute to determine the average base compensation in select markets: engineering, finance and accounting, healthcare, human resources, information technology, life sciences, manufacturing and logistics, and office and administration.
