Travel nurses can earn more money, but there are tradeoffs, according to a report by NPR. It noted travel nurses can make as much as $10,000 per week, but nurses are away from their families. Another challenge is that hospitals aren’t paying their own nurse staff as much as travel nurses. Parth Bhatka, CEO of travel nurse platform Vivian Health, said health systems may need to figure out how to retain their workers and likely will have to pay more.
