TransForce acquires New England firm

April 20, 2015

TransForce Inc., a nationwide truck-driver staffing firm headquartered in Alexandria, Va., acquired the assets of Davis Transportation Services, a provider of commercial truck drivers in New England with offices in Boston and Springfield, Mass.

The transaction closed April 17; terms were not disclosed.

The Davis Transportation Services brand will remain for a transition period.

DTS was a subsidiary of Marlborough, Mass.-based The Davis Companies, which ranks on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of fastest-growing US staffing firms.

TransForce last year acquired Alcoa, Tenn.-based Best Drivers, which provides commercial truck drivers throughout the southeastern United States.

“Future acquisitions are part of our growth strategy,” said TransForce President and CEO David Broome. “Along with organic growth, we continue to seek acquisitions with like-minded companies such as DTS, that are market leaders in providing high-quality professional drivers to the industry.”

According to Transport Topics, acquiring DTS adds 150 drivers to TransForce’s corps of 3,100, and TransForce now has 48 offices nationwide.
