The Stepping Stones Group acquires school therapist staffing provider

August 23, 2017

The Stepping Stones Group acquired Indianapolis-based Staffing Options and Solutions, a provider of therapy services to schools.

“SOS is natural fit to the SSG brands expanding our footprint in key states like Indiana, Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, California and Georgia,” said Stepping Stones Group CEO Anthony Rintala.

The Stepping Stones Group also provides therapy staffing to schools and works directly with the special education department of school districts to recruit therapists and help with the administration of services. It’s headquartered in Lafayette, Colo.

Staffing Options and Solutions, which provides services in 12 states, was founded in 1994 as a spin-off from another company — a Midwestern therapy contract company serving medical facilities — that was co-owned by Diane Powers, its current president. Other founding principals include VPs Sandy Burns and Ladonna Valier as well as CFO Greg Bohac. All principals will continue in their current positions with The Stepping Stones Group except for Bohac, who plans to retire.
