From legal process outsourcing to recruitment marketing system to float pool, Staffing Industry Analysts added 14 new definitions to The Lexicon, the dictionary for the language of the workforce solutions ecosystem. An ever-evolving document, the 2017 version also includes revisions to 10 existing definitions based on feedback from the industry, changes to the ecosystem and regulatory changes.

A new website devoted to the lexicon — which now contains nearly 400 definitions — has also been launched.

“The idea behind the Lexicon is to have professionals in the work solutions ecosystem on the same page using a common vernacular,” explained Subadhra Sriram, editor and publisher, media products. Suggestions for additional terms, clarifications or corrections are welcomed and will be reviewed for periodic updates to the document.
