A contingent worker this week filed a lawsuit against automaker Tesla and a staffing firm alleging racial abuse and physical assault, Business Insider reported. The worker is a Black, gay woman and said racist abuse started after she gained a promotion. The incidents included racial epithets and throwing of a hot grinding tool at her, according to the story. She was ultimately terminated from employment on Oct. 29, 2021. This worker is being represented by the same attorney that sued Tesla in a separate lawsuit involving racial discrimination against another worker — that lawsuit resulted in a $137 million verdict against Tesla.
