Temp staffing hours fall 8% year over year: SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator

Temporary staffing hours worked in the US fell 8% year over year in the week ended May 20, according to the latest SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator report, released today.

Commercial staffing hours dropped 10% year over year, while professional staffing hours slipped 2%.

Temporary employment has fallen each of the past three months and is now 35,200 below its December 2022 level, according to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Regarding the outlook for full-year 2023, Staffing Industry Analysts projects a modest decline in commercial staffing and mixed trends in professional staffing in terms of market size.
