Supplemental Health Care names new CEO, CFO and senior VP

April 21, 2016

Supplemental Health Care, a Park City, Utah-based healthcare staffing firm, promoted CFO Steve Ure to CEO and named other new executives after several executives departed the company five weeks ago. Ure has been with the company for 15 years and replaces former CEO Janet Elkin, who left Supplemental to launch RecruitIQ Staffing, a commercial staffing agency focusing on healthcare and non-healthcare organizations.

Supplemental Health Care hired Monty Houdeshell to fill the CFO position. Houdeshell most recently was CFO at CoWorx Staffing Services, a New Jersey-based commercial staffing company. He previously served as CFO at several firms, including RemedyTemp Inc., and for seven years was chairman of the board at Nelson Family of Companies.

The company also promoted Melissa (Missy) Blakenship to senior VP to take over the majority of the operations, reporting directly to Ure. Blakenship joined the company more than 11 years ago and most recently was VP field operations.

Private equity firm Vistria Group, a middle market private equity firm based in Chicago, in December acquired Supplemental Health Care, which ranks No. 7 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of largest US healthcare staffing firms.

Supplemental Health Care operates more than 60 local offices in major markets across the US. Its four national divisions — travel nursing, travel allied, locum tenens and direct hire — place nursing, therapy and imaging, physician and health information management professionals. The company also provides managed service provider and recruitment process outsourcing programs.
