Superior court reinstates hepatitis lawsuits (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)

July 22, 2016

A divided three-judge panel of the Pennsylvania Superior Court ruled Thursday to reinstate four civil suits against University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and staffing agency Maxim Healthcare Services, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. The suits all stem from the conduct of healthcare travel worker David Kwiatkowski, who in 2013 was sentenced to 39 years in prison for causing more than 40 people to become infected with hepatitis C.
