Staffing hours worked for the week ended Oct. 2 rose 2.4% from the previous week and remained up 21% year over year, reaching a year-to-date high for both professional and commercial staffing, according to the latest SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator, released today. The increase is consistent with the seasonal pattern for this time of year.

The SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator measures hours worked. It comprises two sets of analyses: a year-over-year comparison showing how the most recent week compared to the same week 12 months previously and an indexed value that has been benchmarked against data from the week ended Jan. 19, 2019.
In the week ended Oct. 2, the index value was 107, following readings of 104 and 97 as revised in the prior two weeks.
