This week is Staffing for Canada Week, the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services announced. The week recognizes the more than 400,000 Canadians employed through the C$13 billion staffing profession.

The week first began in 1980 in Edmonton as “National Temporaries’ Week.”

“This event, with the slogan ‘Putting Canadians to Work/Au Travail,’ is an excellent opportunity to recognize the valuable service ACSESS offers to businesses across Canada and the contributions employment and staffing agencies provide to our country’s economic prosperity,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said.

ACSESS’s 1,300-plus member offices across Canada represent 85% of the total volume of business in the staffing services industry in Canada.
