‘Staffing for Canada Week’ begins

June 06, 2016

This week is Staffing for Canada Week, the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services announced. The week aims at acknowledging the more than 400,000 Canadians employed through the staffing profession.

The week first began in 1980 as “National Temporaries’ Week” in Edmonton.

“The success of a business depends largely on the skills and commitment of its employees,” Premier of Québec Philippe Couillard wrote in a message to ACSESS. “That is why it is so important to properly assess its human resources needs and recruit the right person for each position. This difficult task often requires recourse to professional resources such as those that the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services (ACSESS) provides.”

“Businesses that rely on the members of ACSESS are sure to receive quality services offered by highly qualified staff who are guided by the highest ethical standards, all of which makes the association an ideal partner to ensure a company’s rapid development and one of the leaders in the field,” he said. “Staffing Week for Canada is the perfect time to highlight its contribution to the development of the knowhow and skills of all permanent, contract or temporary Québec workers.”

ACSESS has more than 1,300 member offices across Canada, and its members represent 85% of the volume in the industry, according to the organization.
