Staffing firm owner pleads guilty in $687,480 tax case

Staffing firm owner Scott Warner, 73, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to failing to account for and pay employment taxes, according to the US Justice Department. Approximately $687,480 was withheld from employee wages but not forwarded to the IRS.

Warner’s firm was in Suffolk County, New York, and operated under several names, according to the Department of Justice. They included Around the Clock Staffing Inc., Your Staffing Services Inc., Your Staffing Services Inc., Revlis Consulting Corp and City Consulting Corp.

The non-payment of taxes occurred from October 2012 through December 2016, and he faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
