Staffing Word of the Week: Total talent acquisition

June 22, 2021

Relatively few contingent workforce programs use “total talent acquisition” today, but it could become more popular in the future, according to research by Staffing Industry Analysts.

Right now, only 16% of contingent workforce programs have total talent acquisition in place, according to the “Workforce Solutions Buyer Survey: 2020 Americas Results” report. However, 51% of firms say they are likely to seriously explore using it in the next two years.

Total talent acquisition is also today’s Staffing Industry Word of the Week. SIA’s free, online Lexicon defines it as:

“A model for talent acquisition, subsumed within the concept of total talent management and therefore encompassing the acquisition of all human talent in the broadest sense including ‘permanently hired’ workers as well as all types and sources of ‘contingent’ workers as well as non-human talent including robots, bots, software and automation.”
