Softbank closes on deal to acquire 15% of Uber (Forbes)

Softbank closed Thursday on its deal to buy a stake in human cloud, ride-sharing firm Uber, according to an article in Forbes. The deal gave Softbank 15% of Uber and valued the company at $48 billion — a discount from the previous valuation of $69 billion. Approximately $9 billion was invested in the Softbank deal. Former CEO Travis Kalanick sold 29% of his shares as part of the deal.
