Smaller percentage of teens have summer jobs (Pew Research Center)

July 02, 2018

The percentage of teens with summer jobs was at 35% last summer, down from around 50% during the 1990s, according to an article by the Pew Research Center. Reasons for the decline, according to the article, might include fewer low-skill, entry level jobs; more students taking courses during the summer; more students doing unpaid community service work for graduation requirements; or more students taking unpaid internships.
