March 29, 2019

The operators of a Santa Clara, Calif.-based firm placing skilled foreign workers at San Francisco Bay Area software and technology companies pleaded not guilty this week to charges they submitted fraudulent applications for H-1B visas, the East Bay Times reported. A federal grand jury last month indicted Kishore Dattapuram, Kumar Aswapathi and Santosh Giri on 10 counts of substantive visa fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit visa fraud. According to the indictment, the trio operated Nanosemantics Inc. and submitted fraudulent H-1B visa applications that stated workers had jobs waiting for them that did not actually exist.
