ShiftPixy withdraws plans to list on Upstream exchange, names two new executives

December 06, 2022

ShiftPixy Inc. (NASDAQ: PIXY) on Monday announced it is withdrawing the company’s application to list its securities or the securities of ShiftPixy Labs Inc. on the Upstream exchange.

Miami-based ShiftPixy in September had announced plans to list its shares on Upstream in addition to Nasdaq. The Upstream exchange is powered by the Etherium blockchain. It’s designed to enable users to trade non-fungible tokens and invest in securities for IPOs, crowdfunded companies, US and international equities and celebrity ventures using the Upstream app.

ShiftPixy provides staffing in the food service, light industrial and hospitality markets and provides an HR information system. However, its ShiftPixy Labs operation works with restaurants and aims to create metaverse experiences such as NFT avatars and augmented reality menus.

ShiftPixy also announced the appointments of Rodney Diekema as chief sales officer for the company’s quick service restaurants markets and Eduardo J. Dominguez as chief sales officer for ShiftPixy’s staffing initiatives.

Dekema has spent 30 years in the outsourced human management industry across sectors, including employee leasing, professional employer organization, administrative services organization, and staffing. He previously served ShiftPixy as director of national accounts and acquisition team member.

Dominguez has spent the last 25 years managing international teams of sales, marketing, business development and HR service delivery professionals who oversee the human capital needs of Fortune 1,000 companies and midmarket firms across the globe. He previously served on the executive team at ShiftPixy as senior vice president for strategic planning.

“Rod has built national direct sales teams for decades, and his plan for rapid sales growth includes connecting with the many QSR operators who went quiet during Covid,” said ShiftPixy cofFounder and CEO Scott Absher.

Commenting on the appointment of Dominguez as CSO, Absher stated, “We were fortunate to have met Eddy amidst our staffing industry acquisition work and invited him to become part of our leadership team, allowing us to benefit from his extensive industry expertise quickly.”
