Senate Republicans failed to advance a scaled-back plan to overhaul the Affordable Care Act. The Chicago Tribune reports Sen John McCain sided with Democrats and two other Republicans in opposition to the bill, calling instead for a bipartisan approach to overhauling the ACA. The law had raised concerns in the staffing industry when it was enacted, especially the employer mandate that called for fines on some firms that did not provide health insurance to their workers.
