Among large companies that use contingent labor, 55% have included statement-of-work in their contingent workforce programs and 34% plan to seriously explore doing so within the next two years, according to research by SIA. This makes it one of staffing buyers’ top priorities.

And this week’s Staffing Word of the Week is “statement of work (SOW) consultant.” SIA’s Lexicon defines the term as describing:

“An individual performing services in accordance with a document (the statement of work) that captures the work products and services to be delivered under a contract for services between a client and either the consultant (or usually their business entity) or a provider of consultancy services.”
