SIA ranks largest IT staffing firms in US by revenue

July 31, 2017

Allegis Group’s TEKsystems division ranks as the largest supplier of IT temporary staffing in the US with a 12% market share, according to Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2017 list of largest IT staffing firms in the US released last week. On Assignment ranks No. 2 with a market share of 6% and Insight Global ranks No. 3 with a market share of 5%.

The annual list of largest IT staffing firms includes companies with revenue of at least $100 million in US IT temporary staffing revenue in the previous year; the 2017 list is based on 2016 revenue. This year’s list includes 43 firms with combined revenue of $18.0 billion.

“At 43 firms, the IT staffing segment features more companies that generated $100 million or more in US staffing revenue than any other skill segment," said Timothy Landhuis, research manager for Staffing Industry Analysts. "This points to the dynamism of the space, and the breadth of unique strategies successfully deployed by large IT staffing suppliers.”

The five largest IT staffing firms in the US and their estimated 2016 US IT temporary staffing revenue are:

  1. TEKsystems (Allegis Group): $3.47 billion, 12% market share
  2. On Assignment: $1.62 billion, 6% market share
  3. Insight Global: $1.52 billion, 5% market share
  4. Randstad Technologies: $1.12 billion, 4% market share
  5. Kforce: $942 million, 3% market share

Three firms are included on this year’s ranking that did not appear in last year’s report: NTT Data, Principle Solutions Group and V-Soft Consulting.

Staffing Industry Analysts ranked companies by revenue, according to industry custom, but this ranking should not be taken to imply that a firm with a higher rank provides better service or more value to its shareholders.
