Resource1, a national talent acquisition and executive search provider, acquired Carnegie Affiliates, a 40-year-old boutique IT search firm specializing in permanent placements in the New York-metro region.

Both firms have their roots in IT staffing, but Resource1 has also expanded into the executive search, marketing and sales, and accounting and finance sectors.

The transaction closed Jan. 1; terms were not announced. The Carnegie brand will remain and Founder Larry Wagner will continue to manage the Carnegie group.

Resource1 is a wholly owned subsidiary of technology solutions provider Micro Strategies Inc. Both are headquartered in Parsippany, NJ; Resource1 also has remote offices in New York City, Boston and Philadelphia.

Resource1 provides contract services, contract-to-hire, permanent placement and managed services. Targeted sectors include IT; finance and accounting; sales and marketing; and executive search.
