Removal of 83-year-old temp could be discrimination (Bloomberg BNA)

July 21, 2016

A security staffing company’s removal of an 83-year-old receptionist at the request of client FMR Co. may result in it being liable for age discrimination, Bloomberg BNA reports. The receptionist had been placed by Securitas Security Services USA at an FMR office in Westlake, Texas, but the staffing buyer reported the worker couldn’t perform new technology-related tasks, which prompted Securitas to remove her. The worker was replaced by a 29-year-old.
