Protester staffing firm faces extortion allegations (The Sacramento Bee)

October 23, 2018

The Sacramento Bee reported Czech investor Zdenek Bakala claims Crowds on Demand — which provides protesters and crowds for other events — paid protesters to march near his home and to contact the Aspen Institute and Dartmouth College, where Bakala is on advisory boards, urging them to cut ties with him. Bakala’s lawsuit alleges that Prague investment manager Pavol Krupa hired the Beverly Hills, Calif.-based company and threatened to continue to expand the campaign unless Bakala pays him $23 million.
