November 28, 2018

Private investment firm Copley Equity Partners completed a minority investment in Leadpoint Business Services, a staffing provider to blue-collar production environments.

The transaction closed Oct. 1; financial terms were not disclosed. Copley has a minority ownership with co-founders Frank and Diana Ramirez owning the remainder.

Leadpoint provides workers to the waste and recycling as well as across other light-industrial markets including warehousing, logistics and manufacturing. Frank and Diana Ramirez will continue to lead the company alongside CFO Dan Behrendt and COO Len Christopher.

“Our partnership with Copley will help increase the speed of our service and provide a deeper level of expertise our customers can rely on every day,” Leadpoint CEO Frank Ramirez said.

Andy Miller will represent Copley on Leadpoint’s board of directors. Shawn Poole, co-founder and former executive at Employbridge, will also join the board; Poole is included in Staffing Industry Analysts’ Staffing 100 list of most influential people in the staffing industry.

Leadpoint, headquartered in Phoenix, has customers in 16 states. The company reports revenue has been growing at a compound annual growth rate of more than 12% since 2014.

Copley Equity Partners invests in lower middle-market businesses across a broad range of sectors.
