Private equity firm acquires hospitality staffing provider The Service Companies

Private investment firm Gridiron Capital acquired The Service Companies, a provider of managed services and staffing to the hospitality industry.

The Service Companies’ operations include Heart of House Services, Acrobat Outsourcing and JRS International, all serving the hospitality industry. The Service Companies, based in Miami Lakes, Fla., has acquired at least four firms since 2010, including Drake Staffing, an Atlanta-based staffing firm serving the southeast region, in 2016. Its operations count more than 10,000 associates in 33 states, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.

aPriori Capital and Vision Capital were the previous owners. The transaction closed June 29 and terms were not disclosed.

“Partnering with Gridiron now provides The Service Companies with the strategic resources and financial capital to expand our existing business and pursue new opportunities, capitalizing on the ongoing migration to outsourced services in the hospitality industry,” The Service Companies President and CEO Steve Wilson said.

Headquartered in New Canaan, Conn., Gridiron Capital has also invested in Travel Nurse across America, a national travel nurse staffing company based in North Little Rock, Ark.
