Pluralsight in $3.5 billion acquisition and other industry deals: Tech Roundup

An IT training platform provider Pluralsight was acquired for $3.5 billion. Separately, Endouble was acquired from Recruit Holdings and Hashmap, a provider of data and cloud consulting was acquired by NTT Data Services.

Vista Equity Partners, Pluralsight

Private equity firm Vista Equity Partners will acquire IT training platform firm Pluralsight for $3.5 billion in a deal that is set to close in the first half of 2021.

Pluralsight is based in Utah and has more than 1,700 employees. Its two products are Pluralsight Skills and Pluralsight Flow; they are used by more than 17,000 customers.

“Through this partnership with Vista, we will be able to move faster and be more agile, accelerate our strategic vision and, ultimately, deliver deeper, more powerful solutions that help companies adapt and thrive in the digital age,” said Aaron Skonnard, co-founder and CEO of Pluralsight.

Monti Saroya, co-head of the Vista Flagship Fund and senior managing director at Vista, said Pluralsight enables business leaders to improve productivity and provide career paths for their IT workforces.

Phenom

Phenom, an HR technology firm focused on talent experience management, announced today that it acquired Endouble, a firm based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, that creates career websites.

Endouble previously operated under RGF Staffing, part of Recruit Holdings, one of the largest global staffing firms.

Phenom offers a chatbot, CRM and other software. It is based in Philadelphia and has more than 33 clients.

“With our second acquisition in three months, we’re growing our presence and talent across Europe,” said Mahe Bayireddi, CEO and co-founder of Phenom. “Introducing AI and automation to European HR teams will quickly help them increase productivity and unlock innovative experiences for recruiters, employees, and hiring managers.”

NTT Data Services

NTT Data Services struck a deal to acquire Hashmap, a provider of data and cloud consulting. NTT noted that Hashmap is a Snowflake premier partner and has partnerships with Databricks and other cloud, data and technology providers.

Hashmap, based in Atlanta, was founded in 2012.

“Data and analytics services are rapidly evolving as clients migrate to modern platforms and move quickly to make the most of their data in the cloud. Being at the forefront of this is a top priority for NTT Data and we’ll continue to invest in this space to help our clients stay ahead,” said Eric Clark, chief digital officer at NTT Data Services.
