Personnel changes at staffing firms and acquisitions ranked among the most-read Staffing Industry Daily News stories in North America.

  1. Randstad North America CEO to step down; company appoints two new leaders to exec. board,” Jan. 30: Randstad nv announced that Linda Galipeau, the leader of its North American business, would step down from its executive board to pursue opportunities outside the company.
  2. Uber formally launches industrial job app, partners with staffing firms,” Oct. 3: Uber Technologies Inc.  announced the official rollout of its Uber Works industrial staffing app in Chicago, the first city it is serving. Uber recently also announced that Uber Works is operating in Miami as well.
  3. Adecco forms new US professional recruitment unit to focus on growth, innovation; names president,” Dec. 4: The Adecco Group announced a new US “Professional Recruitment and Solutions Unit,” and appointed Laurie Chamberlin to lead the new unit as its president.
  4. Two of largest healthcare staffing firms to combine,” Aug. 13: Medical Solutions announced plans to acquire C&A Industries Inc., the parent company of Aureus Medical Group. The combined organization would have the potential to become the fourth-largest healthcare staffing company in the US.
  5. Former ASGN CEO now steps down from board; firm cites college admissions scandal,” May 28: ASGN Inc. announced that Peter Dameris was resigning as director of the company. ASGN previously announced that Dameris would step down from his role as CEO effective April 30.
  6. Bullhorn acquires Erecruit in staffing software deal,” Oct. 1: Staffing software company Bullhorn announced it acquired Erecruit, a provider of applicant tracking and pay and bill solutions for the staffing and recruitment industry.
  7. Attorneys general come out against employee noncompete agreements,” July 17: Attorneys general from 17 states and the District of Columbia called for the Federal Trade Commission to consider prohibiting employee noncompete, non-solicitation and no-poach agreements.
  8. Temps cite five ways recruiters can do better,” Aug. 16: Temporary workers were asked what recruiters at their staffing firms could do better in a survey by Staffing Industry Analysts. Survey results revealed five things that temporary workers thought their recruiters could improve.
  9. Maxim Healthcare to divest home healthcare division,” Feb. 19: Maxim Healthcare Services announced it agreed to sell its home healthcare business to Aveanna Healthcare, an Atlanta-based home healthcare provider.
